Diverse and Sundry

In his 1630 account of New England, Francis Higginson describes it as “a land of divers and sundry sorts.” All these years later it is still an apt description, and in April we head to Maine, where Palaver Strings joins with long time friends The Gawler Sisters, on a double bill. From its rolling hills and lush forests, to its craggy shores and rock-filled fields, we come together in a cross genre celebration inspired by this diverse landscape. The program ranges from home-grown folk music, to the lush romance of Dvořák’s impression of the New World; New England natives and new converts alike express their love of this land through music - its beauty, rich history, and rugged character.
