Members of Palaver and facilitator Francesca Crutchfield-Stoker from the Immigration & Refugee Clinic at Harvard University will engage participants in conversation about their journeys, life in Boston, and the impact of their culture’s music and art on the city. These workshops foster dialogue by creating an interactive space where individuals and families from these communities explore their experiences through art, music, and story. Workshops will be closed to the public and will take place early in 2018, prior to the Seeking Sanctuary concerts.
During this free workshops, attendees will:
- Listen to performances by Palaver Strings Musicians, uilleann piper, Joey Abarta, and Irish composer, Charlie Lennon.
- Work with facilitator, Francesca Crutchfield - Stoker, to discuss the impact and presence that their community and culture of their country of origin has on the city of Boston.
- Work with artist, Miriam Shenitzer, to express their thoughts, passions, and personal journeys through art.
Free tickets to Palaver’s Seeking Sanctuary performances at the Boston Center for the arts on February 9-11, 2018 will be available to workshop attendees.
