Introduction to Strings Program Application - Spring 2019

Time: March 25-June 8, 2019 on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2:00 and 3:00pm

Location: Immigrant Welcome Center of Greater Portland (24 Preble Street, 3rd Floor, Portland, ME). 

Your child must be 4 years old by October 15, 2018 to be eligible for the Introduction to Strings program.

To ensure appropriate class sizes, students will be assigned to either the 2:00pm or 3:00pm class dependent on need. If you have a conflict with a specific time, please email Palaver Managing Director of Education at matthew.palaver@gmail.com

Mission Statement:

The Palaver Community Music School strives to generate a mutual love of music, foster creativity, and hold space for shared dialogue with young people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.

 The Introduction to Strings class provides an opportunity for young students to learn the beginning basics of playing the violin, viola or cello in a friendly and supportive environment. If students and families are interested and committed, they will be invited to continue private lessons and group classes through the Palaver Community Music School.

Non-refundable Registration Fee: $25 per student or $40 per family

Tuition: Tuition for all classes, instruments, and materials is $250 due before the first class on March 25, 2019.

Parent’s Statement of Commitment:
I would like my child to apply to the Introduction to Strings class. I have read and understand the Introduction to Strings description. I also understand that if accepted, I or a guardian, will bring my child regularly to classes and will keep Palaver updated with any changes in the above information.
