Why does Palaver play Dvorak or commission protest songs? How does classical music fit into the mission? Is classical music helping or hindering the mission of strengthening community through music? Who are these communities and how is classical music the vehicle for strengthening and inspiring them?"

Classical music is our common foundation, uniting us through our expertise and love for the art form. The challenge now is how we can continue to awaken and inspire others with this music. While we believe that music in any form can be for everyone, how do we share and frame classical music in a way that resonates with diverse audiences? The process goes beyond simply drawing in listeners; it’s about integrating the practice of playing with the goal of creating meaningful change. Classical music can serve as a unifying force, but it also has the power to challenge expectations and offer new ways of listening as an entry point for audiences. Our aim is to push the boundaries of our training, rethinking not only how we perform and program but also how we continue to make classical music more accessible and relevant in today’s world.
